At Shapla Primary School we endeavour to keep the school open and running if at all possible. We understand that for many parents, closure causes childcare difficulties and huge inconvenience. However, in the event of very severe weather conditions, where the health and safety of the children and/or staff would be compromised by the school being open, we may need to close.

Where the weather is sufficiently inclement to prevent opening, we will post this information on the school website and text parents as soon as possible.

Should we need to close the school early during the school day, the school office will contact all parents using the contact details provided on the contact forms returned during the Autumn term. It is therefore imperative that any changes in these details are brought to the attention of the school office as soon as possible.
